Music & Events: The Candy Spooky Theater US Tourdates / Pandemonium Tour Vol. 1

Tainted Reality, who are the US management of horror rock band The Candy Spooky Theater, have announced that the band will be on tour in the US again this autumn as part of the Pandemonium Tour Vol. 1. DJ SiSeN, GPK, and Mighty Mike Saga will also be taking part in the tour. At this time, all information is subject to change, but the current dates are as follows:

Toys & Art: Eyezon Tank at Double Punch

The Eyezon Tank is a vinyl and resin custom with glass eyes and a switched colour changing LED unit that illuminates the eyes.  It will be displayed at the Kaiju Eyezon 5th Anniversary show, along with various other pieces, at the Double Punch Store & Gallery. The gallery is located in the North Beach district of San Francisco, California.

Each Eyezon Tank is signed and dated by Bob Conge of Plaseebo, and will be at Double Punch from November 3rd - December 2012.

Bars & Restaurants: Monsterland Bar & Grill, Arizona

Earlier this year Monsterland Bar & Grill opened its doors in Mesa, Arizona and, since then, their patrons have been having "scary good times". They have horror-themed food and signature drinks including: Swamp Thing and Fritters, Demon Chicken, Gooey Eyeball, Jeckyl Serum and many more! Those of you with children will also be pleased to hear that kids are welcome too and there's even a menu for Little Monsters.

Events: Flashback Weekend 10th Anniversary

From August 10th-12th Illinois-based horror convention, Flashback Weekend, will be celebrating its 10th anniversary! The weekend of terror will include a huge dealer room, meet-and-greet events with celebrity guests, movie screenings, performances from local horror-themed acts, a costume contest, a Zombie Pinups Beauty Pageant, and more!

May Monster Madness: Plaseebo at Monster Mayhem

First of all, apologies for our blog link not working earlier today. It's all fixed and fine now :) Anyway, that out of the way, time for some monsters!

Fittingly enough, FOE Store & Gallery in Western Massachusetts are holding an exhibition called 'Monster Mayhem' soon, which features the work of figure makers / customisers from all over the world, all with the terrifically terrifying theme of monsters! Even if you can make the Monster Mayhem event, the FOE Store & Gallery alone sounds like an intriguing place to visit, with items including: "subculture art, designer toys, kaiju and kawaii. Whether it’s custom-painted monsters or tiny cute things, FOE is curated to inspire". Not only that, but they try to bring creators together for both domestic and international projects / collaborations, so who knows what you might find there!

Events: Run for Your Lives

'Run for Your Lives' is a 5 kilometre, charity obstacle run,  taking place on October 22nd, 2011, in Darlington, Maryland (1 hour north of Baltimore, 1.5 hours south of Philadelphia). Maybe than doesn't sound very scary or horror-related and it wouldn't be, except that whilst you navigate these 12 man-made and natural challenges, you'll be chased by brain-chomping zombies! Obstacles include 'The Terrible Tubes', 'The Finish Line', and 'The Uphill Climb' and many more! You can even dress like a zombie if you want to; it will, no doubt, confuse the rotting shamblers into thinking you're one of them!

There are awards to be had by anyone who completes all of the obstacles, but if you're caught by a zombie (a flag will be taken from your flag belt) then you'll be listed as one of the undead. You can either buy a spectator 'Apocalypse Pass', which allows you to watch the race and attend the 'Apocalypse Party' afterwards, or alternatively, you can register as participant, which allows you to take part in the course and attend the after party for free. All participants must be over the age of 14, but children under that age are also welcome to spectate, with those under 10 being admitted for free.

A portion of all tickets sold will be donated to the American Red Cross and the zombie virus will be spreading to even more locations next year. Save your brains - RUN!

Events & Movies: 'Insidious' Fangoria Free LA Screening + Q&A Event

On July 11th, US horror magazine 'Fangoria' are holding a free screening of supernatural horror 'Insidious', followed by a fan Q&A session with director James Wan and screenwriter Leigh Whannell, to mark the release of the DVD/Blu-ray on July 12th. 

Fans are currently being encouraged to send in their questions for the event via Facebook and Twitter (using #InsidiousLIVE) in advance. The screening will be held at the Silent Movie Theater in LA and the following Q&A session will also be streamed live on Facebook.

There's also a chance to win a free copy 'Insidious' on DVD. All you have to do is tune into the live stream of the Q&A, on the Facebook page, on July 11th and leave a comment in the Ustream tab using #InsidiousLIVE to be instantly entered. Contest is open to US residents only.

Halloween: Halloween Horror Nights

Universal Studios, in both Hollywood and Orlando, run Halloween Horror Nights regularly, with 2010 being the 20th year at Orlando! (Hollywood's HHN started later and went on hiatus for a few years). Both locations have scare zones, live shows and houses, with Hollywood also including rides, making scary spectacles for all!

If you prefer branded horror (A Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Saw etc.) then probably you'd enjoy Hollywood's offerings this year, as Orlando only seem to have original characters this year. However, if you just want some shocks, scares and frights on Halloween and don't really care who it comes from, then Orlando will be just as fun for you!
