Events: Classic Horror Campaign Double Feature

"Guys and ghouls, the Classic Horror Campaign has an announcement to make! We are launching the first of a series of Horror Double Bill events this Easter on Good Friday at the Roxy Bar & Screen in London!
Starting at 3pm on April 22nd we are proud to present a screening in the old tradition of the BBC Horror Double Bills of “Night of the Demon” (1957) followed by Hammer’s classic “Vampire Circus” (1972)!
We advise you all to get to the venue early as seating is limited and tickets are only available on the door at £5 per person. However, the Roxy Bar & Screen is renowned for serving excellent food and the kitchen opens at 1 o’clock so why not join us for lunch?
As well as the movie screenings there will be some horror dvd giveaways and the opportunity of appearing on the Classic Horror Campaign website when we post coverage of the event.
More details of The Horror Double Bill event will be posted on the Classic Horror Campaign Facebook page so check it out regularly for updates."

Movies: Suspiria: The Remake

Hello there my spooky kids!
Brief but interesting news I bring you today!

Looks like the famous Dario Argento movie, "Suspiria", will have its remake filmed soon by the director David Gordon Green. According to him, there won't be any key differences but it will be adapted to a girl's boarding school instead of a ballet academy (which, for me, IS a key difference but well, we'll have to wait to see how it might affect the storyline... or not!).

Definitely, great news for us horror fans to see such a classic back onto the big screen!

How-To Guides: Pumpkin Parcels

Today brings another find from an article in a magazine that was kindly given to me. It was in the October 2010 issue of Your Home, which had a section about Halloween crafts. None of them are on the website, so I thought I'd make them and share the guides here.

First up - Pumpkin Parcels! I used orange tissue paper instead of crepe paper and green tissue paper & cellotape instead of green florists tape, but they are essentially the same.

They're really easy to do and, depending on how many you make, only take between 5 minutes and half an hour to produce. You could put little presents or sweets or anything else you want inside and draw jack o' lantern faces on them to make them more individual, so they're also pretty versatile.

My pumkin parcels

You will need:
  • Cellotape / double-sided tape
  • Scissors
  • Green tissue paper (or green florists tape)
  • Orange tissue or crepe paper
  • A pen
  • Something to fill the parcel with
  • A dinner plate (to draw around, not pictured)
More pictures and a step by step how-to guide after the cut below↓
